Abstract
In recent years,the escalating penetration of renewable energy sources(RES)in power systems has intensified the prevalence of weak grid characteristics,introducing critical challenges to operational stability.A prominent issue lies in the wide-range voltage oscillations induced by RES output fluctuations under weak grid conditions.This paper presents a methodology to enhance static voltage stability in weak grids through the strategic deployment of grid-forming converters(GFMs),leveraging power-voltage(PV)curve-based power flow analysis.Initially,the nonlinear switching logic of RES converters during fault ride-through(FRT)operations is investigated to unravel the power-voltage coupling dynamics in weak grid integration scenarios,thereby elucidating the inherent static voltage instability mechanisms of grid-following converters(GFLs).Subsequently,the determinants of static voltage stability are qualitatively analyzed from dual perspectives—grid strength reinforcement and dynamic reactive power support—leading to the establishment of configuration principles and control paradigms for GFMs in weak grid environments.A hardware-in-the-loop(HIL)simulation platform,incorporating authentic GFM control and protection systems,is developed to experimentally validate the static voltage stability enhancement.Empirical results demonstrate that GFM integration effectively elevates the short-circuit ratio(SCR)and voltage support capacity of weak grids,significantly improving static voltage stability and mitigating grid-wide voltage oscillations—a pivotal solution for RES-dominant weak grid architectures.关键词
