Abstract

Decreasing the tip clearance of gas turbine under steady-state condition is an effective way to improve the unit efficiency.For an F-class gas turbine,a Rotor Displacement System(RDS)is adopted.To put in the RDS can greatly reduce the tip clearance of turbine and increase that of the compressor,thus the unit overall efficiency will be affected.In order to study the impact of blade tip clearance change on the unit performance,a two-dimensional fluid-thermal-solid coupled model of an F-class gas turbine unit was built to theoretically analyze the factors on blade tip clearance change and its change trend,so the hot-state clearance under steady-state was obtained.Then,through three-dimensional numerical simulation of compressor and turbine,the impact of tip clearance change on component performance was studied,and a single gas turbine thermal model was created to theoretically analyze the overall performance.Then a series tests had been done to verify the thermal calculation model,and the results showed that the theoretical calculation results were in good agreement with the experimental data.So it was concluded that to put in the RDS could reduce the turbine side clearance,and the results would be as follows:the compressor efficiency would be decreased by 0.2%~0.3%,however,the turbine efficiency would be increased by approximately 0.3%,thus,the overall unit efficiency would be improved by about 0.3%under full load condition.The research results can provide reference for the optimization of unit clearance.
