Abstract
The deformation compatibility between the asphalt core and the transition material,along with the seepage stability of the dam slopes,are two critical aspects in the design of asphalt concrete core rockfill dams.While the issue of deformation compatibility between the asphalt core and the rockfill has been largely addressed,challenges related to the seepage stability of the core wall and dam slopes remain prevalent.Based on this context,leveraging the case of the Upper Reservoir Project at the Pingjiang Pumped Storage Power Station,this study applies the finite element strength reduction method to calculate and analyze the stability of the dam slopes under various conditions,including the completion period,impoundment period,and rapid drawdown period.The results indicate that the stability of the rockfill dam slopes under all analyzed conditions meets the required standards.The stability safety factors for the dam slopes are relatively high during both the completion period and the normal impoundment period.However,the stability safety factor for the upstream dam slope decreases significantly during the rapid drawdown period,indicating that the reservoir water level has a considerable influence on the stability of the upstream slope.The findings of this analysis can provide a reference for ensuring the safety and stable operation of dam slopes in asphalt concrete core rockfill dams.关键词
