Abstract

To screen suitable pakchoi varieties for cultivation in artificial light plant factories,a comparative experiment was conducted using 17 varieties grown in rockwool.The plant factory was equipped with LED lighting providing a red-to-blue ratio of 7:3,a light intensity of 250 μmol/(m2·s),a photoperiod of 13 hours light and 11 hours darkness.Under these conditions,comprehensive evaluations were performed on yield,morphology,and quality attributes of each variety,with correlation analysis conducted on relevant parameters.Results indicated that varieties such as'Huawang','Yanqing',and'Xinxiaqing 9'exhibited greater shoot fresh weights and higher yields,with'Huawang'reaching an average shoot fresh weight of 151.03 g.Varieties including'Xinxiaqing 3','Xinxiaqing 5','Xinxiaqing 7',and'Xinxiaqing 9'displayed rapid early-stage growth and high productivity,rendering them suitable for harvest as little leafy greens.The varieties'Yanqing','Yanchun','SH-1','Xinxiaqing 4',and'Xinxiaqing 7'exhibited better upright growth habits and superior marketable quality.Furthermore,'Xinxiaqing 7','Xinxiaqing 5',and'Haiqing 3'demonstrated optimal comprehensive quality.These findings offer valuable references for the selection of pakchoi varieties for both commercial production or experimental studies in plant factories.
