Occurrence pattern of aflatoxins in grains by Aspergillus spp.from different sources

Abstract
To investigate the occurrence pattern of aflatoxins produced by different Aspergillus species,the toxin-producing conditions,amounts,and types of aflatoxins produced by Aspergillus fllavus,Aspergillus parasiticus,Aspergillus oryzae,Aspergillus pseudoglaucus and Aspergillus jensenii isolated from substrates such as grains,feeds and soils were examined in this study.The content of aflatoxins in maize and wheat cultures were determined using ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS/MS).The results showed that the dominant aflatoxin-producing strain was Aspergillus fllavus,with a total of 28 strains(71.8%),and the maximum production of aflatoxin B1(AFB1)reached 530.73 mg/kg.Aspergillus flavus,Aspergillus oryzae,and Aspergillus parasiticus could produce AFB1,aflatoxin B2(AFB2),aflatoxin G1(AFG1),and aflatoxin G2(AFG2)at the same time,with the maximum toxin production of 111.36,21.86,46.79,12.70 mg/kg,respectively.Aspergillus jensenii was able to produce aflatoxin M1(AFM1),but its highest production was only 1%of AFB1.The types of aflatoxins produced by different strains in maize and wheat cultures were generally consistent,which all showed a trend of first increasing followed by decreasing.The peak of aflatoxins occurred at the 3 rd or 4th week,but the production of aflatoxin varied significantly.This study revealed the occurrence pattern of aflatoxins produced by different Aspergillus species in grains,providing a scientific basis for aflatoxins prevention and control,and the preparation of reference materials.关键词
