Mechanisms and Paths of Transforming Urban Industrial Heritage into Sports Space

Abstract
Transforming urban industrial heritage into sports space is an energy saving and efficient way for space development and utilization.This study uses the methods of literature review,participatory observation,in-depth interviews and case study and takes Beijing Shougang Park as the main case.By expanding Lefebvre's theory of space production to the intersection of industrial heritage and sports,it aims to explore the mechanisms and paths of transforming urban industrial heritage into sports space.It shows that the mechanisms of transforming urban industrial heritage into sports space include reconstructing the basic space carriers by physical reforming,expanding the space symbolic meanings by cultural integration,and driving the practice of spatial activities by complex social demands.Three transforming paths are established,which involve optimizing spatial arrangement driven by policies,capital and social demands,creating cultural landmarks by dual experiences of industry and sports and media dissemination,as well as innovating cooperation networks and models guided by sports consumption.关键词
