Effectiveness evaluation of vegetation restoration in the National Nature Reserve of Populus euphratica in Tarim during 2000-2022

Abstract
[Objective]The study aimed to investigate vegetation dynamics and their primary driving factors under the context of global climate warming,providing a scientific basis for ecological restoration and the improvement of ecosystem structure and function in arid regions.The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI),as a key indicator for assessing terrestrial vegetation growth status and coverage,played a crucial role in ecological restoration research.[Method]Based on the NDVI data,the study explored the spatial and temporal evolution of ND-VI and its driving factors in the National Nature Reserve of Populus euphratica in Tarim from 2000 to 2022 on a multi-temporal scale by ap-plying the methods of Sen slope estimation,Mann-Kendall statistical test,stability analysis,geoprobe and Hurst index.[Result]From 2000 to 2022,the spatial distribution characteristics of vegetation cover in the reserve showed a pattern of higher in the northeast and lower in the southwest,and was distributed along the river.Overall,the vegetation cover showed a significant upward trend,covering 85.85%of the total area of the protected area;the mean value of the spatial coefficient of variation was 0.28,which indicated that the vegetation cover of the pro-tected area had a high degree of stability.The factors affecting the distribution of NDVI in order of importance were:Land use type>tempera-ture>evapotranspiration>soil type>soil erosion>elevation>precipitation>slope direction>slope gradient.The synergistic effect of multi-ple factors would significantly enhance the influence on vegetation cover.[Conclusion]The vegetation cover condition of the National Nature Reserve of Populus euphratica in Tarim is affected by several factors,among which land use pattern,temperature condition and potential evap-otranspiration are particularly critical.The interaction effect analysis showes that the interactions between soil type,topographic slope and land use pattern significantly enhance their effects on vegetation cover.The results of the ecological and risk assessment deeply analyze the charac-teristics of the spatial distribution of the factors and their specific mechanisms on vegetation cover,which provide an important scientific basis for regional vegetation protection and land use planning.关键词
