AI Education Constructor:Teacher Role Transformation and Competency Reconstruction in the Intelligent Era

Abstract
As artificial intelligence technologies rapidly evolve and education systems progress toward comprehensive intelli-gent environments,the professional identity and competency structure of teachers are undergoing systemic transformation.Positioned as a new professional paradigm in the intelligent era,the role of the AI education constructor moves beyond earlier conceptions cen-tered on tool utilization and resource integration.Instead,it emphasizes teachers'capacity to generate cognitive processes,instruction-al contexts,value orientations,and collaborative ecosystems,marking a shift from efficiency-driven enhancement to structural transfor-mation in teaching practice.The emergence of this role is shaped by shifts in the ontological foundations of education,changes in the teacher professional system,refinements in educational governance mechanisms,and the demands of high-quality development.In terms of role articulation,AI education constructors function as designers of educational cognitive architecture,facilitators of instruc-tional innovation,stewards of technological ethics,and promoters of human-machine collaboration.Correspondingly,four core com-petencies are identified:constructing educational cognitive architecture and adaptive learning systems;designing multimodal instruc-tional scenarios and generative learning environments;cultivating data literacy and educational value orientation;and enabling human-machine collaboration and ecosystem development.Each competency is further operationalized into three sub-competencies,there-by forming a"4×3"competency matrix model.The AI education constructor role not only restructures teachers'professional compe-tencies but also provides dual support for intelligent education by enhancing systemic collaboration and sustaining educational values.This redefined role offers important theoretical and practical implications for teacher preparation,educational governance reform,and the high-quality development of future education.关键词
