Gate control list reconfiguration method for dynamic time-sensitive networking with dynamic flow conditions

Abstract
With the rapid development of the industrial internet in manufacturing,high demands on the determinism of data transmission are being placed by an increasing number of business scenarios.Widespread attention in the industry has been attracted by time-sensitive networking,known for its real-time,deterministic,and low-latency characteristics.The deterministic transmission of time-sensitive data flows is ensured by prioritizing business flow data,employing an awareness shaping mechanism for global flow scheduling,and configuring gate control lists properly on intermediate switch nodes.Currently,fixed network topologies are primarily studied in gate control list configuration research.However,when dynamic changes are undergone by network topologies,gate control lists of all switches need to be regenerated globally.The regeneration of gate control lists is seen as a resource-intensive and time-consuming process,and the transmission of existing data flows may even be interrupted,resulting in the long-term stable data transmission requirements of the industrial internet not met.Therefore,a gate control list reconfiguration method for time-sensitive networking under dynamic flow conditions is proposed when new terminal device node or data flow is added due to network topology change.Firstly,according to global gate control on-off switches,partial updates to gate control lists are made using idle time slots.Then,backtracking updates are performed on invalid paths that deadline requirements are not met,thereby the transmission path for the new data flow is determined.It is demonstrated by experimental results that,under the condition of retroactive compensation,compared to the traditional regenerated scheduling algorithm based on logical constraint solving,shorter configuration time is achieved and overall performance is nearly doubled by the gate control list reconfiguration method proposed in this paper.关键词
