Research on the awareness and needs of scientific and technological achievements transformation in tertiary public hospitals in Shanghai

Abstract
Objective To assess the awareness and needs of healthcare professionals and researchers in tertiary public hospitals regarding technology transfer.Methods A self-administered electronic questionnaire on technology transfer awareness and demand was distributed to staffacross seven tertiary public hospitals in Shanghai.Descriptive analysis and multivariate Logistic regression were employed for data processing.Results Among 2,101 valid responses collected,results revealed generally low awareness of technology transfer among hospital staff,with suboptimal research output quality and poor market alignment of most innovations.Different genders,occupations and patent applications experience were the influencing factors of technology transformation awareness levels(P<0.05).The main factors restricting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements are the lack of service capabilities in third-party technology transfer agencies,a shortage of time and energy,and the lack of innovation,advancement,and maturity in the outcomes.In promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements,medical staffand researchers have the strongest demand for financial support(83.4%),followed by the provision of professional technology transfer services(82.8%),specialized training(79.2%),and the establishment of platforms for medical-engineering and medical-enterprise cooperation(79.2%).Conclusion Hospital administrations should implement regular technology transfer training programs,cultivate specialized management personnel,establish institutional commercialization funds,and develop end-to-end management mechanisms to systematically enhance technology transfer efficiency.关键词
