Abstract

In response to the demand for resource recycling of waste LiFePO4(LFP)batteries,the ammonium sulfate assisted oxidation roasting-water immersion method is used to selectively extract lithium from waste LFP cathode materials.The optimal process conditions are determined by systematically optimizing parameters such as roasting temperature,material ratio,and roasting time.When the roasting temperature is 400℃,the material ratio is 0.75,and the roasting time is 1.0 h,the lithium leaching rate reaches 82.74%.X-Ray Diffraction(XRD)analysis shows that the Li2SO4 and FePO4 generated in the roasted sand confirm the effective extraction of lithium,while the formation of insoluble phases such as Li3Fe2(PO4)3 limits the further leaching of lithium.The analysis results of Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive Spectrometer(SEM-EDS)shows that there is no residual N in the roasted sand,indicating that(NH4)2SO4 completely decomposes into NH3,which escapes without introducing impurities.The relevant conclusion provides a reliable method for efficient and clean recycling of lithium from waste LFP batteries.
