Genetic Background Assessment of Taihang Yun Cattle Based on SNP Array

Abstract
In this study,we analyzed the genetic background of the Taihang Yun Cattle based on SNP genomic data,aiming to provide scientific support for its breeding and genetic improvement.Genotyping was conducted using the"Yuxin No.1"200 K Bovine SNP chip from Beijing Compass Agricultural Technology Co.,Ltd.and the Illumina GGP Bovine 100 K SNP chip.Taihang Yun Cattle(n=50),Jinan Cattle(n=19),Hereford(n=19),and Simmental(n=38)were genotyped to obtain genome-wide SNP data.Genetic diversity,ancestry composition,and linkage disequilibrium(LD)decay across the four populations were analyzed.The results showed that Taihang Yun cattle exhibit high genetic diversity and low levels of inbreeding.Genetically,Taihang Yun Cattle are more similar to Simmental cattle,with a relatively close evolutionary distance,whereas they are more distantly related to Jinan and Hereford cattle.In terms of ancestry composition,Simmental ancestry is the most prevalent,followed by Jinan and Hereford.The LD decay rate in Taihang Yun Cattle is relatively rapid,indicating low linkage between distant markers.In summary,Taihang Yun Cattle are genetically distinct from Simmental,Jinan,and Hereford cattle,fulfilling a key prerequisite for recognition as an independent breed.However,there remains potential for further selective breeding and genetic improvement.关键词
