摘要

Abstract

Genetic analysis of important economic traits in beef cattle is the core foundation of molecular breeding.Currently,numerous functional genes regulating important economic traits in beef cattle have been identified based on whole-genome sequencing and association analysis techniques.This article systematically reviews the functional genes and their mechanisms of action for important economic traits such as growth and body type,meat quality,reproductive efficiency,disease resistance,and environmental adaptability in beef cattle.Research indicates that growth and body type are regulated by a multi-gene network,with key genes such as PLAG1 on chromosome 14 enhancing development through the IGF2 pathway and the NCAPG mutation on chromosome 6 promoting myocyte proliferation;meat quality traits are dominated by fat metabolism genes,with FASN on chromosome 19 regulating fatty acid composition and LAMA 4 on chromosome 9 affecting tenderness;reproductive efficiency is associated with the embryo survival pathway,with FOXO1 on chromosome 12 having a stabilizing function for embryo implantation and DGAT1 on chromosome 14 optimizing the nutrient distribution in beef cattle muscles;for disease resistance in beef cattle,high expression of STING1 on chromosome 7 enhances antiviral ability,and SLAMF1 on chromosome 3 is related to the incidence of allergic diseases;environmental adaptability is mediated by stress response genes such as EPAS1 on chromosome 15 for low-oxygen adaptation and the PRLR mutation on chromosome 20 for regulating body heat balance.This review systematically summarizes the functional genes of important economic traits in beef cattle identified through whole-genome sequencing and association analysis techniques,providing molecular targets for precise breeding of economic traits in beef cattle.
