Efficacy of Sanfeng Acupoints Dominating Catgut Embedding in Treatment of CU and Its Effect on Serum Th1/Th2 Cytokines

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of Sanfeng acupoints dominating catgut embedding in treatment of chronic urticaria(CU),and to evaluate its effect on serum Th1/Th2 cytokines.Methods:A total of 108 patients with CU were divided into the monotherapy group(n=54)and the combined group(n=54)by using the random envelope method.The monotherapy group was treated with Loratadine Tablet;on which basis,the combined group was also treated with Sanfeng acupoints dominating catgut embedding.Both groups received one treatment course.Clinical efficacy,TCM symptom scores,Th1/Th2 cytokine levels,incidence of complications,and recurrence rates were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate in the combined group was 90.74％(49/54),which was higher than 75.93％(41/54)in the monotherapy group(P＜0.05).After the treatment,the TCM symptom scores decreased in both groups(P＜0.05),with a greater reduction observed in the combined group(P＜0.05).After the treatment,the levels of interleukin-12(IL-12)and interferon-γ(IFN-γ)increased in both groups(P＜0.05),with higher levels in the combined group(P＜0.05);the levels of interleukin-4(IL-4),interleukin-8(IL-8),and interleukin-10(IL-10)decreased in both groups(P＜0.05),with lower levels in the combined group(P＜0.05).There was no statistical difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Within one year after completion of one treatment course,the recurrence rate in the combined group was 11.11％(6/54),which was significantly lower than 27.78％(15/54)in the monotherapy group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Sanfeng acupoints dominating catgut embedding combined with Loratadine Tablet has high clinical value in treatment of CU.This approach can enhance therapeutic efficacy,regulate Th1/Th2 cytokine levels,reduce recurrence rates,without increasing the risk of adverse reactions.关键词
