Abstract
Objective To investigate the application value of stepwise nursing combined with appreciation education based on health beliefs in children with supracondylar humeral fractures.Methods A total of 106 children with supracondylar humeral fractures who received treatment at Wuxi Children's Hospital from June to December 2023 were selected and grouped using a random number table,with 53 cases in each group.The control group received routine nursing,while the observation group received stepwise nursing combined with appreciation education based on health beliefs to guide functional exercises.The elbow range of motion,functional exercise compliance,and other indicators were compared between the two groups.Results At 7 and 14 days postoperatively,the elbow flexion,pronation,and supination range of motion in the observation group were all greater than those in the control group,while the extension range of motion was less than that in the control group(P<0.05).Compared with preoperative measurements,the elbow range of motion in both groups was better,and it was better at 14 days after surgery than at 7 days after surgery(P<0.05).The Wong-Baker FACES Pain Rating Scale score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group at 3 and 7 days after surgery,and the Mayo Elbow Performance Score was higher than that of the control group at 7 and 14 days after surgery(P<0.05).Compared with preoperative levels,both groups achieved better pain and functional scores.The pain scores at 7 days after surgery were better than those at 3 days after surgery,and the functional scores at 14 days after surgery were better than those at7 days after surgery(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the observation group had a higher overall compliance rate with functional exercises and a lower overall incidence of complications(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of stepwise nursing and appreciation education based on health beliefs to guide functional exercises can help improve exercise compliance in children with supracondylar humeral fractures,relieve pain,improve elbow range of motion and function,and reduce the incidence of complications such as muscle atrophy.关键词
