Abstract

Nickel-cobalt layered double hydroxides(LDHs)have recently emerged as promising high-performance electrode materials owing to their large specific capacity,tunable structure,and diverse functionalities.In this study,nickel-coated polyester fibers were used as the substrate,and nickel-cobalt LDHs(NC LDH/NPFs)were synthesized through a low-temperature chemical bath process.To further enhance their electrochemical performance,a series of aluminum-doped composite electrodes(ANC LDH/NPFs)were prepared by introducing various amounts of Al3+ions.The aluminum ions effectively regulated the crystal structure and morphology of the NC LDHs,resulting in optimized electrochemical behavior and structural stability,thereby broadening the application potential of NC LDHs in supercapacitors.The structure and morphology of the prepared materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.Their electrochemical performance was evaluated in a three-electrode system at room temperature.The ANC LDH/NPFs-2 electrode exhibited superior electrochemical properties,delivering a specific capacitance of 798 F/g at a current density of 1 A/g.Furthermore,the assembled hybrid supercapacitor demonstrated excellent energy storage capability,achieving an energy density of 38.2 Wh/kg and a power density of 453 W/kg at a current density of 0.5 A/g.These results indicate that precise regulation using aluminum ions enables the fabrication of high-performance nickel-cobalt LDH-based hybrid capacitors,providing a viable strategy for the design and development of advanced electrode materials.
