Abstract

[Objective]Overgrazing and climate change in recent years have led to varying degrees of degradation of alpine grasslands on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau,with declining productivity and ecological service functions.How to effectively restore degraded alpine grasslands has become an urgent issue for the sustainable development of the Tibetan Plateau.[Method]In this study,five treatments,S1(rodent prevention and control),S2(S1+Rest grazing in the regreening later period for 30 d+mechanical no—tillage replanting),S3(S1+Rest grazing in the re-greening later period for 45 d+mechanical no-tillage replanting),S4(S2+mechanical no-tillage fertilization)and S5(S3+mechanical no-tillage fertilization),were set up in the moderately degraded alpine meadow meadows in Xiahe County,the northeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.[Result]All restoration measures increased vegetation cover and total biomass,with the S5 treatment increasing to 99.33%and 3074.29 g/m2 on average over the three-year restoration period,which was significant(P<0.05);all restoration measures increased the biomass of grass forage and miscellaneous grass forage,and decreased the biomass of sedge and inedible forage;The S4 and S5 treatments significantly reduced species richness,Shannon diversity index,and Simpson dominance and evenness index(P<0.05),while this adverse effect gradually disappeared two years after the restoration;the S1,S2,and S3 treatments had no significant effect on community diversity.[Conclusion]The integrated restoration measures of Rest grazing in the regreening later period for 45 d+Rodent control+Mechanical no-tillage reseeding+Me-chanical no-tillage fertilizer were condensed to be beneficial to the ecological restoration of degraded grassland in Xiahe County.This study provides data support for the restoration and management of degraded alpine grassland eco-systems in Gannan,the upper reaches of the Yellow River basin.
