Abstract

[Objective]It is of great significance to study the greenhouse gas emission characteristics of different lawn plants in winter for objectively understanding the role of lawn in reducing the emission carbon dioxide(CO2),methane(CH4)and nitrous oxide(N2O)The study is helpfulin optimizing the selection of lawn plants and promoting the reduction of sources and increase of sinks.[Method]The LI COR-7810/7820 greenhouse gas flux detection system was used to monitor the greenhouse gas flux of common lawn plants such as bermuda grass,cogongrass and clover in winter.The monitored greenhouse gas fluxes included carbon dioxide(CO2),methane(CH4),and nitrous oxide(N2O),and their impact on global warming was evaluated.[Result]1)The daily average CO2 release rates of bermuda grass,cogongrass,and clover in winter were 791.8 nmol/(m2·s),1 569.5 nmol/(m2·s)and 5 772.7 nmol/(m2·s),respectively.The average daily release rates of CH4 were-0.108 nmol/(m2·s),-0.113 nmol/(m2·s)and 0.158 nmol/(m2·s),respectively.The average daily release rates of N2O were-0.218 nmol/(m2·s),-0.005 nmol/(m2·s)and 0.003 nmol/(m2·s),respectively.2)The average daily release rates of CO2 and N2O generally showed the characteristic of being higher at noon and lower in the morning and evening.The daily average release rate of CH4 showed a characteristic of beinglowedat noon and beinghigherinthe morning and evening.3)The daily av-erage global warming potential caused by bermuda grass,cogongrass and clover in winter were 730.9 nmol/(m2·s),1 564.9 nmol/(m2·s)and 5 777.9 nmol/(m2·s),respectively.their contributions to the global warming potential were lower than those of bare land[6 507.3 nmol/(m2·s)].[Conclusion]Compared to bare land,bermuda grass,co-gongrass and clover all exhibit carbon sources in winter.Planting the above-mentioned plants can help alleviate greenhouse gas emissions from the soil,with bermuda grass having the most significant emission reduction effect.From the point of view of reducing resources and increasing sinks,it is suggested that bermuda grass should be pre-ferred in the selection of lawn plants.
