Abstract

[Objective]In order to compare the yield performance of seven oat varieties in five different ecologi-cal regions of Gansu Province and explore the effects of different ecological regions on oat production performance.[Method]A randomized block design was used in this study.Seven varieties of Longyan No.1,Longyan No.2,Longyan No.3,Baiyan No.7,Sweet Oat,Mulesi and Haymaker were used as test materials.A plot experiment was carried out in Anning District(semi-arid area,with irrigation),Shandan County(cold and semi-humid area,with irri-gation),Tianzhu County(alpine semi-humid area,no irrigation),Luqu County(alpine humid area,no irrigation),Tongwei County(two-yin area,no irrigation).The hay yield,seed yield,plant height,stem diameter,tiller number,effective tiller number,main spike length,spikelet number and 1000-grain weight of each test material were mea-sured,and the production performance of the test materials in different planting areas was analyzed and compared.[Result]The planting area had a significant effect on the production performance of forage oats.The hay yield and seed yield of oats in Anning and Shand an counties with lower altitude and irrigation conditions were significantly higher than those in the other three planting areas.In the two-yin area without irrigation conditions,the alpine semi-hu-mid area,and the alpine humid area,the hay yield generally increased with the increase of rainfall and altitude,and the seed yield gradually decreased.The average hay yield was 3.71~6.73 t/hm2,and the average seed yield was 4.43~5.59 t/hm2.Plant height and tiller number had a great influence on hay yield,and there was a significant or extremely significant positive correlation in multiple planting areas.Spikelet number,effective tiller number and 1000-grain weight contributed more to seed yield.The hay yields of Longyan 1 and Longyan 3 were 7.37 t/hm2 and 5.56 t/hm2,respectively,which were higher in irrigated semi-arid areas or non-irrigated alpine and semi-humid areas.Longyan No.2 is suitable for producing hay in the non-irrigated two-yin area.Longyan No.3 and sweet oats perform best in the alpine semi-humid Tianzhu and alpine humid Luqu,respectively,and the hay yield could reach 5.91 t/hm2 and 5.32 t/hm2.[Conclusion]Among the seven varieties,the seed yield of Longyan No.1 was higher with big fluctua-tion,while Haymaker was much more stable.Therefore,Longyan 1 should be selected in semi-arid area of Anning,cold semi-humid area of Shand an and alpine semi-humid area of T ianzhu to pursue high seed yield;and Haymaker can be used to achieve stable grain yield in different ecological regions.
