The impact of group counseling centered on satiric therapy on stigma and social participation in nasopharyngeal cancer patients

Abstract
Objective:To explore the impact of group counseling centered on Satirian theory on stigma and social participation among nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients,providing some basis for clinical intervention in patients'stigma and social participation.Methods:Eighty-six patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma admitted to the Oncology Ward of The First Affiliated Hospital of Gannan Medical University from January 2021 to July 2022 were selected and divided into a control group and a study group by random number table method,with 43 cases in each group.The control group received routine nursing care,while the study group additionally underwent group counseling based on Satirian theory.The self-reported participation questionnaire,and the social impact scale were used to evaluate the scores of both groups before and after the intervention.Results:Before the intervention,there were no statistically significant differences in general data,stigma scores,or social participation scores between the two groups(P＞0.05).After the intervention,the stigma scores of both groups showed statistically significant differences(P＜0.05),while the social participation scores did not(P＞0.05).Conclusion:Group counseling based on Satir's theory can effectively alleviate the stigma of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients and improve their mental health level,which is worthy of promotion and application in clinical nursing.However,its role on improving the social participation level of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients still needs further research.关键词
