Key Role of Siderophore in the Interaction Between Ralstonia solanacearum and the Rhizosphere Microbial Community

Abstract
Ralstonia solanacearum induces destructive bacterial wilt.Siderophores are crucial for its iron acquisition and invasive capacity to host plant.This study investigated the impact of siderophores on rhizosphere microbial communities by inoculating tomato roots with wild-type(WT)strain EP1 or its siderophore synthesis-deficient mutant.Rhizosphere soil bacterial communities were analyzed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing.The results demonstrated that inoculation with the wild-type strain(EP1)altered the rhizobacterial community structure.In contrast,inoculation with the mutant resulted in a significant reduction(P<0.05)in the colonization abundance of Ralstonia and a significant increase(P<0.05)in community alpha diversity,with the overall community structure closely resembling that of healthy counterparts.Further co-occurrence network analysis revealed that the wild-type promoted the co-enrichment of specific Pseudomonas species,whereas mutant treatment enhanced the abundance of oligotrophic taxa such as Acidobacteria.In summary,it was concluded that siderophore deficiency could attenuate the iron competition advantage of R.solanacearum,and then alleviate competitive pressure for iron resources in the rhizosphere,thereby restructuring the microbial community and enhancing system stability.This study provides a new perspective for elucidating the interaction mechanisms between R.solanacearum and rhizosphere microorganisms.关键词
