Abstract

In order to address the challenges to the grid frequency stability posed by the high penetration of renewable energy and enhance the economic benefits of electrolytic hydrogen production systems,this paper targets the problems of imprecise control and reduced revenue caused by additional losses during the participation of these systems in frequency regulation ancillary services to propose an optimized control strategy considering operational losses.Then,based on the operational characteristics of the electrolytic hydrogen production system,is developed a refined mathematical model of the additional losses in auxiliary equipment,such as transformers,power electronic converters,and water pumps,to quantify the total system operational loss,and finally is proposed a frequency regulation ancillary service control strategy that incorporates these additional losses.The results of case study simulations demonstrate that the proposed control strategy enables the total system power to accurately track dispatch commands,significantly improving both frequency regulation performance indicators and the overall economic efficiency of the system.
