Uncertainty Evaluation of a Standard Sample for Determining Flexural Properties of Plastics

Abstract
Uncertainty evaluation is a core aspect in the development and value assignment of reference materials.In this study,a systematic analysis was conducted on the uncertainty sources associated with the characteristic values of the self-developed polypropylene-based reference material for flexural property determination.The main contributors include the reproducibility of the value assignment process,sample homogeneity,and long-term stability.In accordance with standards such as GB/T 15000.3-2023,each uncertainty component was quantitatively calculated and combined.The evaluation results indicate that the standard value of the flexural modulus is 1240 MPa,with a combined standard uncertainty of 50 MPa,an expanded uncertainty of 100 MPa(k=2),and a relative expanded uncertainty of 8.1%.The standard value of the flexural stress at the specified deflection is 28.7 MPa,with a combined standard uncertainty of 0.81 MPa,an expanded uncertainty of 1.7 MPa(k=2),and a relative expanded uncertainty of 5.9%.The entire uncertainty evaluation process is scientific,transparent,and yields reliable results,providing a solid basis for the practical application of this reference material in laboratory quality control,calibration of flexural testing equipment,and proficiency testing of inspection personnel.关键词
