摘要

Abstract

This paper aims to accurately obtain the mechanical properties and failure characteristics of the three axis sealing materials.The study involves establishing a 3D microscopic discrete element model with the PFC3D-based simulation software and"ball+cluster"approach under various confining pressures to conduct the triaxial compression test characteristics.The results indicate that the compressive strength and ductility of the material increase with the increase of confining pressures.The simulated peak stress is 3.66%higher than that obtained from laboratory tests and the confining pressure has the quad-ratic relationship with both the peak stress and elastic modulus,showing the more compressive strength and ductility under the higher confining pressure.Based on the forward crack slices,the increase of con-fining pressure has the rock failure mode shift from simple stretch mode to complex shear-dominated crack network.The study provides theoretical insights for predicting failure and optimizing the design of the sealing materials under complex stress conditions.
