Abstract

To investigate the dynamics characteristics of profile shifted planetary gears under certain lubrication conditions,a lubrication mathematical model of profile shifted planetary gears was established.The progressive mesh density(PMD)algorithm was introduced,and a method for calculating oil film stiffness and friction coefficient in profile shifted planetary gear transmissions was proposed.The effects of operating conditions,lubrication parameters,and profile shifted coefficients on the lubrication performance,such as oil film stiffness and friction coefficient,were analyzed.A dynamics model of profile shifted planetary gear transmission considering elastohydrodynamic lubrication was developed,and the impact of profile shifted coefficients on its dynamic performance was analyzed in detail.Results show that due to the influence of the comprehensive curvature radius,the oil film stiffness of the sun gear-planet gear meshing pair is generally greater than that of the ring gear-planet gear meshing pair.As the load increases,the presence of the oil film enhances the system's impact resistance.Different profile shifted designs alter the position of the meshing points.During a meshing cycle,when the meshing point is located in the second double-tooth meshing region,the direction of friction does not change;when the meshing point is in the first double-tooth meshing region,the friction direction changes but does not experience a sudden shift;when the meshing point is in the single-tooth meshing region,the friction force undergoes a sudden reversal.Therefore,using an appropriate positive profile shifted design for the sun gear increases the oil film stiffness and meshing overlap of the internal meshing pair,significantly improving the transmission stability of the system.
