Study on Hydrologic Zoning of Zhangjiang River Basin Based on Physical Geographical Characteristics and Bibliometric Data

Abstract
Against the backdrop of water ecological civilization construction and strict water resources management,this study aims to achieve integrated water resource management in the source area of the Gan river by accurately understanding the response relationship be-tween human activities and the basin's natural geographical characteristics.Taking the Zhangjiang river basin,a tributary of the Gan river,as the study area,meteorological,hydrological,and underlying surface elements within the basin were collected.Based on bib-liometric methods,11 research elements—including precipitation,evapotranspiration,and average elevation—were selected to establish a set of natural geographical characteristic ele-ments for the basin.The Zhangjiang river basin was then divided into hydrological zones u-sing Principal Component Analysis and the k-means clustering algorithm.The results indi-cated that the Zhangjiang river basin was divided into three types of hydrological zones:the first type was characterized by a high level of urbanization,the second featured numerous hills and high vegetation coverage,and the third was marked by higher elevations and served as the primary runoff generation area.This study demonstrated that PCA based on natural geographical characteristics could effectively identify basin heterogeneity,with significant differences observed in natural geomorphology and development conditions across zones.Furthermore,targeted differentiated management strategies could be formulated based on hydrological zoning,and this approach is expected to be further applied to tributaries of the Gan river and even the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze river.关键词
