Community Structure and Water Quality Evaluation of Macrobenthos in the Main River Basins of Jiangxi Province

Abstract
In order to explore the macrobenthic community structure and its water environ-ment factors in the main river basins of Jiangxi province,water quality monitoring and mac-robenthic sample collection were carried out in the main river basins of Jiangxi province,in-cluding the Ganjiang River Basin,the Fu River Basin,the Xinjiang River Basin,the Rao River Basin,the Xiu River Basin and Poyang Lake from September to October 2024.The re-sults showed that:1)a total of 147 species of macrobenthos were identified,belonging to 4 phyla,9 classes,23 orders,67 families and 134 genera.The mean number of species was 11.2,and the mean density was 118.0 ind./m2,with both species richness and density showing spatial and temporal differences among basins;2)Biological evaluation based on macro-benthic was in a good to moderate state in the main river basins of Jiangxi province,consist-ent with the overall water quality at Class Ⅱ-Ⅲ;3)redundancy analysis(RDA)revealed that permanganate index(CODMn)concentration,(BOD5)concentration,total phosphorus(TP)concentration,pH and water temperature(WT)were the main environmental factors affecting the distribution and quantity of macrobenthos in the main river basins of Jiangxi province.Overall,significant differences exist in the community structure of macrobenthos across the major river basins of Jiangxi province,which are shaped by varying water environ-mental conditions.Evidence of pollution was detected in some basins,warranting further at-tention.关键词
