Abstract
Objective To explore the efficacy of percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP)in the treatment of osteoporotic ver-tebral compression fractures(OVCF)complicated with scoliosis.Methods PKP was used to treat 79 patients with OVCFs complicated with scoliosis.The height of the injured vertebrae,the Cobb angle of scoliosis,the pain VAS and the occurrence of complications were recorded.Results All patients were followed up for 6～24 months.There were 6 cases of bone cement leakage during the operation.Among them,3 cases leaked to the anterior edge of the vertebral body,2 cases leaked to the intervertebral space,and 1 case leaked to the posterior part of the vertebral body.There were 1 case of local hematoma and 2 cases of adjacent vertebral fractures after the operation.No complications such as puncture site infection,vertebral osteomyelitis,bone cement reaction or embolism occurred.Six months after the operation,the height of the injured vertebrae,the Cobb angle of scoliosis and the pain VAS were all improved,com-pared with those before the operation(P<0.05).Conclusions PKP treatment for OVCF combined with scoliosis can improve the height of the injured vertebrae and the Cobb angle of scoliosis,relieve pain,and achieve satisfactory therapeutic effects.关键词
