Abstract
Against the backdrop of the accelerated global low-carbon transition,the low-carbon retrofit of China's coal-fired power units has become a core pathway to achieve the"dual carbon"goals.The national policies clearly identify biomass co-firing,green ammonia co-firing,and carbon capture,utilization,and storage(CCUS)as the core technical routes.Among them,biomass co-firing is currently the technical route with the highest feasibility and technical maturity.However,its emission reduction potential is limited,and it is constrained by the fuel supply radius.Issues such as biomass green electricity metering,market-oriented trading,and the collection,storage,and pre-processing of biomass raw materials need to be addressed.Green ammonia co-firing can theoretically achieve near-zero emissions through the"wind/solar power-electrolysis-ammonia synthesis"chain.Nevertheless,the current investment cost is high,leading to a significant increase in the cost per kilowatt-hour of electricity.Additionally,the supporting green ammonia production capacity and supporting storage and transportation facilities are insufficient.However,as a new type of zero-carbon fuel and a hydrogen carrier,green ammonia can be deployed in demonstration devices in advance.CCUS technology has the capability of deep emission reduction,but the impact on the power generation efficiency of coal-fired units is difficult to resolve.Moreover,the entire chain technical system for carbon dioxide utilization and storage is not complete.Without strong policy promotion,large-scale commercial application will be difficult to achieve.关键词
