Abstract
This study investigates the antibacterial effects of salt toothpaste by evaluating its water activity,inhibitory rates against common oral bacteria,and impact on dental plaque biofilm.Results show a clear relationship:as the salt concentration in the toothpaste increases,water activity decreases,leading to enhanced inhibition against several key pathogenic oral bacteria,including Actinomyces naeslundii,Streptococcus oralis,Veillonella parvula,and Fusobacterium nucleatum.Furthermore,toothpastes with 10%and 20%salt concentrations significantly suppressed dental plaque biofilm growth(p<0.05)compared to the control.These findings suggest that salt toothpaste can effectively reduce oral plaque formation and contribute to maintaining gum health.关键词
