Abstract

In high-altitude cold environments,where the diurnal temperature variation is significant and the climate is arid,the thermal effects and creep deformations of continuous rigid-frame bridges become more pronounced.For small-radius curved continuous rigid-frame bridges constructed using cantilever casting methods,alignment control is particularly susceptible to temperature-induced deformations and creep effects.Taking the No.5 Inclined Gully Bridge on the Lehua Expressway in Ledu District,Haidong City,Qinghai Province as a case study,we established a finite element simulation model with Midas Civil to comprehensively investigate the combined effects of concrete shrinkage-creep(caused by environmental humidity fluctuations and construction interruptions)and temperature loads on girder deflection and stress distribution in small-radius curved continuous rigid-frame bridges.A comparative analysis between theo-retical predictions and field measurements during cantilever construction reveals that the theoretical align-ment closely matches measured alignment trends,with a maximum deviation of 17 mm.Additionally,stress variations at the pier-top sections show excellent agreement between theoretical values and measure-ments.These findings provide valuable insights for designing and constructing small-radius curved contin-uous rigid-frame bridges in cold and arid regions.
