Abstract

To improve the accuracy of groundwater quality auto-monitoring data and enhance its utility in water resources management,the reliability and error sources of auto-monitoring data were analyzed.The statistical significance,regression,and quality evaluation of auto-monitoring values and laboratory measurements(7 parameters)from 100 stations were examined using statistical methods.The results showed that the comparison between automatic monitoring values and laboratory measurements had a high pass rate,all exceeding 90%,and the determination coefficients were all above 0.9,showing a significant correlation.Most relative errors(except turbidity and ammonia nitrogen)conformed to normal distribution characteristics.Accordingly,the auto-monitoring values of groundwater quality were mainly reliable based on the analysis even though there were occasional or systematic deviations between auto-monitoring values and lab measurements for some indicators.The groundwater quality auto-monitoring data can provide qualitative reference for monitoring,analysis,and assessment.Furthermore,enhancing the operation and maintenance of automatic monitoring stations and increasing the frequency of laboratory comparisons can further enhance the quality of automatic groundwater-quality monitoring data.
