Abstract

As a critical node within a railway section without siding and crossing capability,the block post plays a key role in connecting lines,dividing sections and ensuring transportation flexibility on railways.However,due to the absence of passing loops,it may cause the problem of head-on conflict when opposing trains enter from the adjacent stations at both ends,which disrupts the operational order.Based on the definition of and control requirements for block posts in the current standard Railway Technical Management Regulations,and considering the technical constraints of the CTC and interlocking systems,this paper systematically analyses the formation mechanism,typical scenarios and safety hazards of head-on incidents at the block post.By sorting out train control logics under different station layouts and block modes,it presents the proposal of optimizing the decentralized and autonomous constraints of the CTC system without altering the existing technical infrastructure,to strengthen the control strategy for automatic route triggering at the block post,thereby reducing the head-on risks.This study demonstrates the high feasibility and adaptability of the proposed technical approach,providing robust protection for safe train operations at the block post.
