The Circulation and Medical Evolution of Foreign Medicinal Materials in the Tang Dynasty

Abstract
This paper explores the introduction,regulation,and use of foreign medicinal materials,and concludes that Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)entered a period of rapid development during the Tang Dynasty,which relied on a developed economy,convenient transportation,and enlightened foreign policies,making it an important period for the import of foreign medicinal materials into China.The increase in the trade volume of foreign medicinal materials and the expansion of application have played a positive role in promoting the development of TCM medicinal materials.This study finds that the introduction of foreign medicinal materials through the Silk Road enriched the types of medicines in the Tang Dynasty,expanded the understanding of their efficacies,and promoted the development of Tang Dynasty medicine.An exploration on the circulation and medical evolution of foreign medical materials in the Tang Dynasty could provide reference for exploring the multiple influencing factors in the rapid development of Tang Dynasty medicine and improving the framework of Tang Dynasty medicine.关键词
