Clinical perspectives on 3D-printed individualized titani-um mesh in complex alveolar bone defect reconstruction

Abstract
Reconstructing complex alveolar bone defects is a challenge in oral implant therapy,and traditional methods such as guided bone regeneration,onlay block bone grafting,and distraction osteogenesis have limitations.The 3D-printed individualized titanium mesh(3D-PITM),which combines digital design and additive manufacturing technology,can pre-cisely match the bone defect area,significantly shorten surgi-cal time,reduce the risk of titanium mesh exposure,and achieve personalized alveolar bone augmentation.This article introduced the application process of 3D-PITM supported guided bone regeneration(3D-PITMs GBR)in the reconstruc-tion of complex bone defects,including titanium mesh design,incision design,recipient site management,titanium mesh fix-ation,wound closure,and postoperative management.It also discussed factors affecting osteogenesis,such as appropriate augmentation design,exposure and precise positioning of the 3D-PITM,and selection of bone graft materials.The 3D-PIT-Ms GBR technology is highly predictable and is suitable for all types of alveolar bone defects,especially showing excellent performance in the treatment of complex bone defects.It is ex-pected to play a greater role in clinical practice in the future.关键词
