Abstract
The excessive energy absorbed by the arrester during operation will lead to thermal collapse,which is a common cause of arrester damage.Taking an explosion accident of the arrester on the trans-mission side of a 220kV high-speed railway traction station as an example,the simulation model of the transmission line under lightning strike and switching overvoltage is established by considering the special wiring form of the traction transformer,and the cause of the arrester failure is analyzed.Firstly,the simu-lation software ATP-EMTP is used to build the model of the transmission line and the traction transform-er with VX wiring form.Then,the double exponential wave and multi-wave impedance models are se-lected to simulate the lightning current and the tower in the project;calculate the voltage waveforms of the line and the arrester when the lightning strikes the tower in traction power supply system,and analyze the energy absorbed by the arrester.According to the intersection flashover criterion,the switching overvol-tage model after the single-phase ground fault caused by the insulator flashover is established.By set-ting the opening and closing time of the switch element,the overvoltage on both sides of the line is simu-lated,when the fault phase protection tripping is successful and the automatic re-closing occurs.The results show that in the case of automatic reclosing on the line,the overvoltage at the outlet side of the traction transmission line reaches 2 times the overvoltage,and the energy absorbed by the arrester can reach 450~500 kJ.The temperature of the arrester reaches 100℃,exceeding the normal operation temper-ature range.Continuous operation under this condition leads to the sharp thermal collapse of the arrester.关键词
