Abstract

In order to quantitatively analyze the influence of asphalt functional groups on macro-technical indexes during the whole aging process,a temperature cycle aging oven is used to carry out short-term and long-term aging tests on three types of matrix asphalt and two types of modified asphalt,and the chemical characteristics of the asphalt functional groups are analyzed by using the Varian 600-IR Fourier transform infrared spectrometer.By simulating different aging conditions and combining with multi-dimensional spectroscopy detection technology,the molecular structure evolution of asphalt materials in the aging process is systematically analyzed,and the microscopic evaluation indexes suitable for evaluating the aging degree of asphalt are screened and recommended,and the correlation between the microscopic evaluation indexes and the basic technical indexes and rheological property index is established by using the SPSS statistical software.The study confirms that the carbonyl peak area is more effective than the sulfoxide peak area in characterizing the aging micro-characteristics of asphalt.In the matrix asphalt system,carbonyl peak area shows a significant correlation(R2>0.9)with both the basic technical indexes and rheological property index,while the correlation between the rotational viscosity of modified asphalt and carbonyl peak area is weak.The analyses show that carbonyl peak area can be used as an effective index to assess the microstructural evolution of asphalt aging.
