Abstract

To address the issue of insufficient turning clearance on roads during the construction and maintenance of substations,this paper calculates and analyzes the traffic capacity at road turns based on the performance parameters of vehicles such as fire trucks,semi-trailers,full trailers,and bridge transporters.The study incorporates relevant regulations,standards,and engineering cases.The conclusions are as follows:The design of fire lanes can meet the requirements for fire truck access,and there is room for optimization in substations with lower voltage levels.A 6-meter-wide road is insufficient for the passage of a 3-column,15-axle flatbed trailer,requiring widening at turns.The transport of bridge transporters must consider the swept path radius and swept width.Lowboy trailers and semi-trailers have high turning requirements;conventional design standards cannot meet their passage needs,and they may need to be reconfigured before entering the station.
