Abstract

To determine whether antagonism between clothianidin and fertilizers during compounding could lead to the reduced active ingredient content,failure or the production of harmful substances,this study systematically evaluated the compatibility of clothianidin with different fertilizers,aiming to provide a theoretical basis for the development of clothianidin-related medicinal fertilizer products.In this study,a method for the determination of clothianidin in water samples was established by liquid-liquid extraction combined with high performance liquid chromatography.The mobile phase was acetonitrile and ultrapure water(60∶40),and C18 chromatographic column was used for separation.Under indoor conditions,the mixed saturated solution of clothianidin and different fertilizers was prepared,and the concentration of clothianidin in the solution was measured at 0(4 h),1,3,5,and 7 days.The results showed that clothianidin had a good linear relationship in the concentration range of 0~10 mg/L,the correlation coefficient R2>0.999,the recovery rate was 97.9%~108.8%,the relative standard deviation(RSD)was 0.66%~2.87%,and the lowest limit of quantification was 0.05 mg/L.After mixing with urea,potassium nitrate,and ammonium nitrate,thiamethoxam did not undergo significant degradation within 7 days.However,when mixed with 80%ammonium chloride for 4 hours,the concentration of thiamethoxam decreased by 15.0%.When mixed with 60%and 80%saturated ammonium sulfate solutions,the concentration of thiamethoxam decreased by 19.3%and 24.7%,respectively,after 1 day.These results indicate that ammonium sulfate affects the stability of thiamethoxam in the solution and it cannot be mixed with thiamethoxam.The results of this study indicate that within a certain period,thiamethoxam can be formulated and applied in combination with urea,potassium nitrate,and ammonium nitrate,which has the potential for synergistic enhancement.In contrast,mixing with ammonium chloride(concentration>80%),ammonium sulfate(concentration>60%),and two types of compound fertilizers leads to significant degradation.This study provides a scientific basis for the development of thiamethoxam-based pesticide-fertilizer formulations and integrated pesticide-fertilizer technology.
