Abstract

A long-term nitrogen addition experiment with different gradients was conducted in the alpine grassland of Sejila Mountain in Linzhi City,Xizang,to explore the response of alpine grassland plant communities to the intensification of atmospheric nitrogen deposition.The effects and patterns of variation of nitrogen addition on plant functional groups,community biomass,nutrient content,and stoichiometric ratio characteristics were systematically analyzed.The results indicated that nitrogen addition promoted an increase in plant community biomass and root-shoot ratio,but with the increase in nitrogen addition concentration,the aboveground biomass of Poaceae and forbs decreased.Nitrogen addition significantly reduced the carbon(C)content of the plant community,while increasing the nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)contents of plants.Under the N15 treatment,the aboveground N content increased by 8.34%,and the P content increased by 24.20%,thereby changing the stoichiometric ratio of plants(P<0.05).However,high-concentration nitrogen addition reduced the N and P contents of plants and increased the nitrogen-to-phosphorus ratio(N:P),causing the plant community to shift from nitrogen-limited to co-limited by nitrogen and phosphorus.
