Abstract
Global LNG trade reached 411 million tons in 2024,reflecting a 2.4%increase from the previous year. The market exhibited such four key structural characteristics as the United States,Australia, and Qatar collectively accounted for 60%of total exports, while Russia and floating LNG(FLNG)projects in Africa accelerated capacity expansion on the supply side, the Asia-Pacific region's share of global imports rose to 40.1%,whereas imports into Europe, influenced by the restart of nuclear power generation and warmer winter conditions, declined markedly on the demand side, the trans-Pacific route gained significant prominence, while trans-Atlantic trade continued to contract in terms of trade flows, and tensions have emerged between Europe's regasification infrastructure and its carbon neutrality objectives regarding pricing mechanisms as well as debates over methane emissions in North America have slowed the internalization of environmental costs.LNG markets across North America,Europe, the Middle East,Asia-Pacific,and emerging economies exhibit distinct structural characteristics. In light of this complexity,it is recommended that participants in China's LNG market concentrate their efforts on such four key areas as deepening reforms in the LNG trading market's price formation mechanism and engaging more deeply in Pacific Rim trade flows, clearly defining LNG's transitional role within the broader energy transition, encouraging state central enterprises to take a lead to establish a vertically integrated global business system, and break through core technologies to develop a globally competitive industry.关键词
