Effects of Moss Crusts on Seed Germination and Seedling Growths of Slope Protection Grasses and Anti-scouribility of Engineering Spoil

Abstract
In order to provide reference for moss and grass configuration in slope ecological restoration of engi-neering spoilbank in South China,three common warm-season slope protection grasses(Paspalum notatum,Cynodon dactylon and Zoysia japonica)and two common mosses(Hypnum plumaeorme and Atrichum undula-tum)were used as materials.Under pot culture condition,seed germination indicators of three slope protection grasses on moss crusts of engineering spoil and seedling heights,total chlorophyll contents,malondialdehyde(MDA)contents and peroxidase(POD)activities were determined.Pure engineering spoil treatment was control(CK).Relative neighbor effect indexes(RNEI)were calculated to analyze effects of moss crust treatments on seedling growths of slope protection grasses.Soil water contents were determined,and anti-scour intensity rates(ASIR)were calculated to analyze effects of moss crust treatments on anti-scouribility of engineering spoil.Re-sults showed that both moss crust treatments promoted seed germination of three slope protection grasses,among which C.dactylon had the highest germination rates.In H.plumaeforme crust treatment,seedling heights and to-tal chlorophyll contents of three slope protection grasses were significantly higher than those in CK treatment,while MDA contents and POD activities were significantly lower,and RNEI values were positive,indicating that H.plumaeformecrust treatment could promote seedling growths of three slope protection grasses.In A.undulatum crust treatment,only seedling height and total chlorophyll content of C.dactylon were higher than those in CK treatment,while MDA content and POD activity were lower,and RNEI value was positive,indicating that A.un-dulatum crust treatment only could promote C.dactylon seedling growth.In two moss crust treatments,water con-tents of engineering spoil were significantly higher than that in CK treatment,among which H.plumaeforme crust treatment showed better effect.ASIR of H.plumaeforme crust treatment was higher than that of A.undulatum crust treatment.Based on all indicators,H.plumaeforme crust had better performance,which was ideal biologi-cal crust for moss and grass configuration in slope ecological restoration of engineering spoilbank in South Chi-na.Combination with H.plumaeforme crust and C.dactylon had best performance,which was better moss and grass configuration in slope ecological restoration of engineering spoilbank in South China.关键词
