Excellent Individual Selection of Flower Type Camellia nitidissima

Abstract
Camellia nitidissima has long breeding cycle with uneven planting quality,which made it difficult to meet industrial development demands.Selecting excellent high-yield C.nitidissima individuals to establish breeding population was key measure for driving industry high-quality development.Taking fifteen C.nitidissima plants by preliminary selecting as research objects and flower value as main considering factor,variations of twenty evaluation indexes were analyzed,and excellent flower type C.nitidissima individuals were selected by comprehensive evaluation on indexes by entropy and linear weighted methods.Results showed that variation of total number of flowers to ground diameter was the most abundant,followed by total number of branches to ground diameter.Total number of flowers and total number of branches could be important references for excel-lent individual field selection.Total number of flowers to ground diameter showed extremely significant positive correlations with total number of branches to ground diameter and crown width to ground diameter,and showed extremely significant negative correlation with single flower weight.Single flower weight showed extremely sig-nificant positive correlations with flower diameter,flower color,flower height and total saponin content.Total flavonoid content showed extremely positive correlations with number of petals and total number of flowers to ground diameter.During excellent individual selection,priority should be given to plants with abundant and large flowers,golden and vibrant flower color,expansive crown,dense branches and leaves.At the same time,balance between single flower weight and total number of flowers should be considered.Nine excellent individu-als were selected,demonstrating significant flower value and maintaining certain ornamental qualities,which could serve as excellent materials for further genetic breeding.关键词
