Real-time Appearance Inspection System for Multi-specification Luggage Based on Machine Vision

Abstract
Addressing common appearance defects in high-speed cigarette cartoning processes such as surface damage,flap position damage,perforations,exposed flap paper,stains,and print defects,a real-time visual inspection system for multi-specification finished cigarette cartons is proposed and engineering-implemented.A centering correction mechanism at the conveyor end,barcode recognition and recipe management,six-side imaging with adaptive strobe lighting,hybrid vision algorithms combining rule-based and template-based methods,PLC-driven rejection with audio-visual alarms,and data traceability and statistical modules are integrated into the system.Equipped with color industrial cameras and high-brightness,long-life LED area lights,a novel parametric operating mode with"one-click setup"and large-capacity local storage with rolling overwrite are adopted by the system.Field tests demonstrate that,at a production rate of 50 cartons per minute,the system achieves a detection accuracy of 99%,a false detection rate less than or equal to 0.5%,and a rejection accuracy of 100%,fully meeting the online quality inspection requirements for multi-specification carton appearances in cigarette packaging lines.The system's overall architecture,key technologies,and software workflow are described,and its stability and adaptability are validated using real production line data,providing a replicable engineering paradigm for intelligent quality inspection upgrades in the cigarette industry.关键词
