Abstract

Against the backdrop of higher education's transformation towards holistic development,collegiate system dormitory buildings have become essential carriers for the implementation of holistic education concepts.This paper conducts an in-depth analysis of the design connotations of collegiate system dormitory buildings under the philosophy of holistic education,and proposes systematic strategies for the coordinated design of functions and spaces.In functional design,a dynamic system featuring complementarity and flexibility is developed through integrated and adaptive expansion,accommodating the diverse needs of students.In spatial design,strategies such as the composite overlay and distributed implantation of public spaces,the integration of indoor and outdoor environments,and the expression of contextual culture are utilized to create open,shared,and multi-layered educational spaces.The interactive relationship between functional systems and spatial forms is emphasized:functional requirements guide spatial design,while spatial experience,in turn,influences the effectiveness of those functions.The findings offer both theoretical and practical references for the design of collegiate system dormitory buildings in higher education,providing significant insights for the innovation of spatially-centered educational models.
