Levels and clinical significance of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets,serum secretory stimulating factors,and B lymphocyte stimulating factors in patients with anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis

Abstract
Objective To investigate the levels of serum secretory stimulating factors(RANTES)and B lymphocyte stimulating factors(BLyS)in peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets of patients with anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor(NMDAR)encephalitis and their clinical significance.Methods The levels of CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+,CD19+,in 30 patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis(anti-NMDAR encephalitis group),32 patients with non-NMDAR encephalitis(non-anti-NMDAR encephalitis group)and 28 healthy volunteers(normal control group)were detected by flow cytometry.Serum RANTES and BLyS levels were detected by ELISA.The prognosis and disease severity of anti-NMDAR encephalitis group was evaluated by mRS,the results were compared.Results Compared with normal control group,CD19+was significantly elevated in the anti-NMDAR encephalitis group and non-anti-NMDAR encephalitis group(all P<0.05),and were significantly higher in the NMDAR encephalitis group than in the non-anti-NMDAR encephalitis group(P<0.05).Compared with normal control group,serum RANTES,and BLyS were significantly elevated in the anti-NMDAR encephalitis group and non-anti-NMDAR encephalitis group(all P<0.05),and were significantly higher in the anti-NMDAR encephalitis group than in the non-anti-NMDAR encephalitis group(all P<0.05).Compared with the remission subgroup,the acute subgroup showed significantly increased CD19+levels and serum RANTES and BLyS in the acute subgroup increased significantly(all P<0.05),but no significant differences in CD3+,CD4+,or CD4+/CD8+(all P>0.05).The poor prognosis group had significantly higher mRS score,CD 19+,and serum RANTES,BLyS levels than the good prognosis group(all P<0.05).Serum RANTES and BLyS were positively correlated with disease severity,CD19+,and mRS scores(all P<0.001).Conclusion CD19+,RANTES,and BLyS are elevated in patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis,and they are closely related to disease development and mRS score.关键词
