摘要

Abstract

[Objective]Platygaster robiniae Buhl and Duso is the dominant natural enemy of the invasive species Obolodiplosis robiniae and plays a crucial role in naturally regulating the host insect population Thus,investigating its biological characteristics and clarifying the effect on its host will provide the refer-ences of the management for O.robiniae.[Methods]In this study,larvae of O.robiniae were collected from Robinia pseudoacacia L.trees with curly leaves in the field and dissected under a microscope.The development of P.robiniae in the host larvae,phenotypic and behavioral changes of the host larvae after parasitism were observed.[Results]After examining 500 larvae of O.robiniae,we found that P.robiniae generations overlapped,with both embryos and larvae coexisting within a single host.In addition,the para-sitized larvae exhibited a tendency to have increased body length and width compared to non-parasitized larvae,though no significant behavioral differences were observed.[Conclusion]This study elucidates P.robiniae's development within its host and characterizes host morphological and behavioral responses to parasitism.These findings offer novel insights into the parasitism mechanisms and establish a foundation for developing control strategies against O.robiniae.
