Exploring the theoretical connotations of treating vascular dementia from the perspective of the spleen based on the spleen-brain correlation
摘要
Abstract
Vascular dementia(VD)can be classified as encephalopathy of TCM.The spleen,a viscus embodying earth in TCM,has the functions of transforming diets into fine substances,ascending clear qi and descending turbid qi,and controlling blood operation,which are essential for maintaining the filling of the brain marrow,the normal transportation and transformation of phlegm and dampness,and the running of blood in vessels,to promote the clarity and agility of primordial spirit.The correlation between the spleen and brain is based on their connection in the aspects of their responding visceral openings,bonding meridians and collaterals,related qi,blood essence and marrow,spirit and emotion,etc.This paper investigates the theoretical connotations of treating vascular dementia from the perspective of the spleen,discussing them from the aspects of spleen-brain correlation in TCM and the relationships of the brain and gut,and of mitochondria and the spleen in modern biology.It is expected that the study may provide new ideas for the understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease,and provide reference for its clinical prevention and treatment.关键词
