Abstract
Objective:This study aimed to evaluate, through a controlled model-based comparison, the performance of the indirect digital technique and the conventional method in replicating peri-implant soft tissue emergence profiles.Meth-ods:Experimental single-tooth implant models were designed and fabricated in the anterior esthetic region. The peri-implant emergence profiles were replicated using both conventional and indirect digital methods to create implant restoration models, followed by the design and fabrication of the definitive restorations. The stereolithography(STL)files of the provisional and definitive crowns were superimposed, and the root mean square(RMS)deviation was calculated to compare the accuracy and reproducibility of emergence profile replication,as well as the esthetic outcomes of the final restorations.Time efficiency was recorded for both techniques. Results:A total of 20 model comparisons were conducted. The RMS value of the transmucosal region in the indirect digital group(0.014±0.005)mm was significantly smaller than that in the conventional impression group[(0.200±0.045)mm](P<0.001).Within the indirect digital group,intra-group differences in the emergence profile were minimal(P>0.05),indicating excellent reproducibility. The overall crown RMS values were(0.326±0.175)mm for the indirect digital group and(0.372±0.132)mm for the conventional group, showing no significant difference(P>0.05).Both methods achieved satisfactory esthetic outcomes. The average impression time in the indirect digital group(20.35±2.06)min was significantly shorter than in the conventional group[(40.50±2.77)min](P<0.001).Conclusion:Both methods pro-duced clinically acceptable esthetic results in the experimental model. However, the indirect digital technique demonstrated superior accuracy, reproducibility, and efficiency in replicating the peri-implant emergence profile, suggesting its potential to become a mainstream approach for peri-implant soft tissue replication in implant prosthodontics.关键词
