The Home Community in The Magician of Lublin
摘要
Abstract
The Magician of Lublin is one of Isaac Bashevis Singer's representative novels.The novel is set in the background of social changes in Poland in the late 19th century,and through the life experience of Yasha,the protagonist,it depicts the real life and spiritual world of people during the transition between old and new eras.With the help of community theory,the article analyzes the home community in Lublin,the alienation of Yasha from the home community and his return to the home community portrayed in the novel,which can help to explain the connotation of the home community in the novel.The Magician of Lublin narrates the exploration of a cohesive home community during the period of social transformation,revealing the author's reflections on the life of the home community in the context of rapid globalization at the time and offering insights and references for building a harmonious world and constructing a community with a shared future for mankind in today's context.关键词
